Next to the laptop
under the sun
Gaming laptops blow 55–60 °C air from the exhaust, in summer the beach reaches 35 °C, and the inside of the bag is even hotter. We ran the FRAGWATT in all of these conditions, with real BMS software and a thermal model that also takes solar radiation into account.

Next to the laptop
tested under the sun
Gaming laptops blow 55–60 °C air from the exhaust, and in summer the coastline reaches 35 °C. We ran the FRAGWATT in 16 environments with real BMS software and a 3-node thermal model (including cells, power stage, aluminum housing; solar radiation). In none of them did the cell exceed the 60 °C limit, there was no thermal cut-out; In extreme heat, the device gradually reduced the power.
| Scenario | Installation workload | highest cell | power to laptop | Conclusion |
|---|
The power going to the laptop is the percentage of the average power required by the laptop. The 94% value on the Solo is not caused by heat, but by the 240W continuous limit of a single module. The thermal model will be calibrated with thermocouple measurements in the prototype; physical climate chamber tests are included in the test plan (EVT/DVT).
heat model
three knots,
including sun
The model treats the device as three thermal masses: cells, power stage, and aluminum housing. The transmission between them, forced convection of the fan, natural convection and radiation of the body, and heat absorbed from the sun (absorbency 0.75) are calculated separately. Parameters from cell and material data; The prototype will be calibrated with thermocouple measurements.
From 45 °C
When the cell exceeds 45 °C, the firmware gradually reduces the output power; Cuts at 60 °C. The cutoff was not reached in any of the tests: in extreme heat the laptop ran slightly slower but without interruption.
Does not absorb hot air
The 20 mm radial fan rotates only when the power stage heats up. If the inlet air is hotter than the cells (e.g. in front of the laptop exhaust), the fan shuts off and the OLED warns of "hot air"; It tells you to move the device further away instead of heating it.
The current is divided into three
In Trio, each module carries one-third of the load; The cell current decreases to one-third and the temperature inside the cell decreases to one-ninth. In direct sun, the Trio stayed at 41.4 °C in LLM training, while the Solo went up to 48.8 °C in AAA play.
