problem
battery full,
FPS is low again
The gaming laptop draws 180–330 W at full performance. Since its own battery cannot provide this, it reduces the power limit of the graphics card when unplugged. Even if the battery is 100%, the game slows down and rendering and model training takes longer. The solution is usually to carry kilos of adapters with you and look for a socket.

Go light like carrying a MacBook, have a gaming laptop in your hand
Without the power brick, two cables and outlet plug, the bag becomes a shoulder bag again. Solo set 0.73kg: no more than someone carrying a thin laptop. The difference is this: when you sit at the table, the machine you turn on is a gaming laptop with RTX running at full power and no one asks where the socket is.
- Cable traffic is eliminated: one short cable goes to the laptop, nothing goes to the socket.
- Since there is no outlet plug, the cable is wrapped flat in the front pocket of the bag; The square plug does not crush other items.
- 1m of KX-Link is enough to place the FRAGWATT next to your lap, away from the laptop exhaust.
- Your laptop adapter remains at home: it serves to fill the FRAGWATT with 330 W via the KX-D end.

The Core carries all the electronics and a 97 Wh battery. Pack modules "click" under the Core with a magnet: the four N52 magnets in the corners align, the 12-pin pogo makes contact, the Core recognizes the new module in seconds. Each Pack has its own BMS. All with the same 140 × 90 mm base and 24 mm thickness: when stacked, it looks like one piece.

FRAGWATT is connected to the laptop with a KX-Link cable and a plug suitable for your brand. The same port also works in reverse: it charges the laptop's own adapter FRAGWATT with 330 W via the KX-D terminal.

The laptop operates at full performance without touching its own battery. The output stage is two-phase: 98.4% efficiency at 330 W, reducing to single phase at light load.
GaN instead of brick adapter
If an outlet is available, a palm-sized USB-C GaN charger carries the base load, handles the FRAGWATT peak moments, and charges itself at idle. With 240 W GaN, AAA gaming lasted 3 hours at full power.
USB-C or your own adapter
When the two are installed together, the Trio charges to 80% in 36 minutes. If left on charge for a long time, the desk mode keeps the cells at 65%.

Is it compatible?
There is a code resistor at each end. FRAGWATT does not turn on the output without recognizing the tip; If the tip changes while the output is on, it cuts off the power immediately. It emulates the adapter ID (1-Wire) of Dell and HP, and the resistor ID of Lenovo and ASUS.

how much
does it last?
The numbers come from FRAGWATT's real BMS software and simulations with the battery, converter and thermal model. Approximately 255 Wh is required to power a 235 W laptop for 1 hour; That's why we recommend Trio for workloads exceeding 1 hour.
Examine in detail →Hybrid mode GaN
If there is a socket: brick
instead of palm
GaN (gallium nitride) transistors switch much faster and with less loss than silicon. Because they can operate at high frequency, transformers and coils become smaller: a charger delivering 240 W is reduced to 400 g. FRAGWATT uses these devices from USB-C1 at 28 V (140 W) or 48 V (240 W) with USB PD 3.1 EPR.
Examine in detail →USB-IF certified PD 3.1 controller (TI TPS26750) on USB-C1 negotiates up to 48 V / 5 A with the GaN device; Protects the TPD4S480 port against 48V short circuit. A 5 A cable with e-marker is sufficient.
The charging stage (BQ25756) converts power to the battery bus. The 2-phase output meets the needs of the laptop directly from this power.
The battery covers the peak moments when GaN is not enough; As the load decreases, increasing power fills the cells. If the battery runs out, the laptop continues on GaN power.

Power profiles
TURBO, BALANCE, ECO:
when which one?
The profile is FRAGWATT's way of introducing itself to his laptop as "I'm an adapter of this power". Transmitted over the ID line at the end (Dell/HP 1-Wire, Lenovo/ASUS resistor); It adjusts the power limit of the laptop graphics card and processor accordingly.
Examine in detail →The laptop works with full TGP as if plugged into the original adapter. Highest FPS, fastest training and rendering. Default profile.
It often makes no difference in the game and LLM study; In heavy rendering exceeding 250 W, it reduces the power and extends the time. Typical performance 90–95%.
For long training and travel. The video card operates in the more efficient zone; work slows down by 10–20%, but significantly more gets done on a single charge.
| time with Trio | TURBO | BALANCE | ECO | Note |
|---|
The profile changes by long pressing the button on the top face or from the Kararti Link app. On ends without ID pins (MSI, Acer) the profile is applied with output limit; In these cases, it is recommended that you select the laptop's own "Silent/Balanced" mode. TURBO times were calculated from the firmware simulation, others were calculated with the same energy model.
Charging
With what, how much
dollars in time?
There are two ways: any USB-C PD charger (up to 240 W, PD 3.1 EPR) to the USB-C1 port or your laptop's own adapter (up to 330 W) with the KX-D tip. Both can be used simultaneously. Fast charging is only done when the cell is between 15–35 °C and up to 80%; the rest slows down.
Examine in detail →| charging source | Solo 5%→80% | Solo full | Duo 5%→80% | Duo full | Trio 5%→80% | Trio full |
|---|
Since the Solo is a single module, it is stuck at the 1.5C limit per cell; so chargers above 140W will not charge the Solo faster. EPR (28–48 V) requires a 5 A USB-C cable with e-marker.
heat resistance
Next to the laptop
tested under the sun
Gaming laptops blow 55–60 °C air from the exhaust, and in summer the coastline reaches 35 °C. We ran the FRAGWATT in 16 environments with real BMS software and a 3-node thermal model (including cells, power stage, aluminum housing; solar radiation). In none of them did the cell exceed the 60 °C limit, there was no thermal cut-out; In extreme heat, the device gradually reduced the power.
Examine in detail →| Scenario | Installation workload | highest cell | power to laptop | Conclusion |
|---|
The power going to the laptop is the percentage of the average power required by the laptop. The 94% value on the Solo is not caused by heat, but by the 240W continuous limit of a single module. The thermal model will be calibrated with thermocouple measurements in the prototype; physical climate chamber tests are included in the test plan (EVT/DVT).

Warranty: 2 years or 800 full charge cycles (whichever comes first), module will be replaced if capacity drops below 80% during this period. Lifespan analysis is based on the cell manufacturer's aging model calibrated with "80% in 500 cycles" data.

- Cells are charged to 4.15 V instead of 4.20 V; This single setting extends cycle life by approximately 30%.
- Charging is not done above 45 °C (the cell manufacturer allows 60 °C), and not at all below 0 °C.
- The device, which has been left on charge for 72 hours without using the output, goes into desk mode and keeps the cells at 3.90 V.
- In Trio the current is divided into three modules; The load per cell decreases, heat and aging decrease.
- Only polymer and ceramic capacitors (no liquid electrolytics), 40 V FETs on the 25 V bus, ICs were chosen with at least 20% voltage margin.
- Cell, current and temperature protections are in three independent layers; Even if the software crashes, the hardware protects.

FAQ
Why can't it be 1 hour of LLM training with a single module?
Approximately 255 Wh battery is required to power a laptop that draws 235 W for 1 hour. The only battery that can be carried on the plane without approval can be a maximum of 100 Wh. That's why we divided the FRAGWATT into 97 Wh modules: Trio (3 modules) lasts 71 minutes in the LLM training and 92 minutes in the ECO profile.
Can I take it to the beach or camping?
Yes; In the simulation, LLM training with Trio at 35 °C in the shade kept the cells at 38.5 °C, increased to 41.4 °C in direct sun, and the power was not reduced. But the FRAGWATT is not certified against water and sand (IP rating): the fan grill is open. Use in the shade or inside your bag, away from sand and water; Do not charge if it gets wet.
Why isn't it thinner than 24mm?
The diameter of the 21700 cells inside is 21.6 mm; We go down to 24 mm with lower and upper thermal pads and 0.8 mm aluminum. A thinner one means either a low-current cell (reduces FPS) or a shorter-lived high-current pouch cell. We stuck with the 21700 to keep the 2-year warranty and 330W; We went from 32 mm to 24 mm by taking the electronics from the top of the cells and moving them to the vertical boards.
Is a GaN charger necessary?
No. FRAGWATT is designed to work without a plug. The GaN device is only useful when there is an outlet: you can run the laptop at full power and charge the FRAGWATT with a handheld device instead of the laptop's own brick adapter. You can also use your laptop's own adapter with the KX-D tip for charging.
Is there any problem with the hot exhaust of the laptop?
In the simulation, even in front of 55 °C exhaust air, the cells remained below 56 °C; The smart fan turned off to avoid drawing in hot air and a "hot air" warning appeared on the screen. However, it is best to place the device away from the exhaust with a 1 m cable.
Will it affect my laptop's warranty?
The FRAGWATT powers the laptop at the voltage and power rating listed on the original adapter's label; The output cannot be turned on unless the terminal is recognized and there is an overvoltage lock on the output. We will publish the measurement results on a model basis during the testing phase.
Can I carry it on the plane?
Yes. Core and each Pack individually are 97.2Wh; According to IATA rules, spare batteries under 100 Wh can be carried in cabin baggage without airline approval. Carry modules separately in flight. The airline may have its own rules.
Is it difficult to plug the modules together?
No. Just slide the Pack close to the bottom of the Core: four pairs of N52 magnets in the corners self-align and snap the module into place, and the 12-pin pogo connector makes contact. Core recognizes the new Pack, soft-charges the bus capacitors and turns it on if the voltages are equal; It's also safe to plug in with the outlet open. To detach, simply push the slide lock and slide the module.
How is it different from the adapter? Will I really save space in the bag?
A 330W laptop adapter comes with a brick body, a long DC cable going to the laptop, and a separate power cord going to the outlet; That means three pieces and meters of cable in the bag. The FRAGWATT has a single 1 m KX-Link cable, no socket plug. The Solo set weighs 0.73 kg: you can throw it in a lightweight shoulder bag like you would carry a MacBook, but the machine in your hand becomes a full-fledged gaming laptop.
What should I do for my laptop's own battery?
We recommend that you turn on the charging limit in your laptop's software (such as ASUS Battery Health Charging, Lenovo Conservation Mode, MSI Battery Master). Thus, the FRAGWATT's energy goes to the game, not to charge the laptop battery.
