your laptop,
your own adapter sees
Gaming laptops reduce the power of the graphics card when unplugged; For full power, it asks to see the ID of the adapter. The KX-T pins of the FRAGWATT give the laptop the voltage and ID of the original adapter: the laptop says "I am plugged into the adapter" and works with full TGP.

Is it compatible?
There is a code resistor at each end. FRAGWATT does not turn on the output without recognizing the tip; If the tip changes while the output is on, it cuts off the power immediately. It emulates the adapter ID (1-Wire) of Dell and HP, and the resistor ID of Lenovo and ASUS.
To be sure, look at the original adapter's label: it says output voltage (19.5 V / 20 V), power (W) and plug size.

all ends
Each end has a barrel plug, a code resistor that tells the FRAGWATT which end is plugged in, and a line that carries the laptop's ID pin to the cable. The output voltage is constant relative to the lead: no risk of choosing the wrong voltage.
| fly | plug | exit | power class | ID | sample families |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KX-T1 | 5.5×2.5mm | 20.0V | 280W | — | MSI (some series), Gigabyte/Aorus, Clevo/Tongfang based (Monster, XMG) |

| KX-T7 | 7.4×5.0mm | 19.5V | 230W | 1-Wire | HP Omen 17 (7.4mm serial) |
| USB-C1 | USB-C PD 3.1 | 5–28V | 140W | P.D. | Laptops with USB-C charging (Zephyrus G14/G16, Razer Blade, Framework) |
| KX-D | female barrel suitable for tip | login | up to 330 W | — | Charges FRAGWATT with your laptop's own adapter |
Brand matches are typical values. Check the voltage and plug size on the label of your original adapter before purchasing. Highlights the selected lead in the calculator table.
ID emulation
laptop why
Does it stay at full power?
The laptop's embedded controller reads the power class of the attached adapter from the ID line and adjusts the graphics card TGP and processor PL1/PL2 limits accordingly. It goes into low power mode when a source it does not recognize.
1-Wire
The original adapter has a small memory chip inside that tells it its power and serial number. The FRAGWATT's microcontroller does this talking to an open-drain 1-Wire driver (74LVC1G07) and reports the power class corresponding to its profile.
Resistance
The resistance between the ID pin and ground encodes the power of the adapter. FRAGWATT builds this resistor with a digital rheostat (TPL0102); When the profile changes, the resistance also changes.
anonymous
These laptops do not read the adapter class; It receives full power only with correct voltage and sufficient current. The profile is applied here with the FRAGWATT's own output power limit.
safety rules
The output cannot be opened until the tip is recognized. If the lead changes while the output is on, the power is cut off in the same control step. The output voltage is constant relative to the tip; User cannot select voltage. Even if there is a malfunction, the 22.2 V surge lock of the LM5069 e-fuse and the SMCJ22A TVS diode protect the laptop.
KX-Link connector
7-pin, locking, 20 A connector on the FRAGWATT side: power, ground, code resistor, ID line, and sense pins. Selected based on 5 000 fitting cycles. The same connector works in reverse: with the KX-D end, it fills the FRAGWATT of your laptop adapter with 330 W.
